Prospective adopters - Developing your skills and knowledge
There are a number of opportunities for prospective adopters through WANDS as detailed below. There are also probably some we have not thought of yet so if you have any other skills, interests or passions you would like to share with us please do let us know.
Once you are registered with us (with confirmation from your Adoption Agency) we will send you a weekly email (usually on a Monday) with information about upcoming activities, including timings and locations.
We look forward to meeting you and good luck with the adoption process.
Workshops (online / in-person)
An opportunity to develop certain skills or expand knowledge, these are more participatory sessions (than the Information sessions) and we have had topics including DLA and PIP applications.
Information Session (online / in-person)
Guest speakers attend to provide information on a topic or on a service they provide. We have had information sessions on Adoption West, Early Years, Virtual Schools, SENDIASS, Making a Will, etc.
Watch Party (online)
We watch together a pre-recorded interview or YouTube video on either parenting approaches, information on trauma or anything else which may help (mindfulness, etc.)
