For all adopters living in Wiltshire, by adopters living in Wiltshire
Prospective adopters - supporting activities
There are a number of opportunities for prospective adopters through WANDS as detailed below. There are also probably some we have not thought of yet so if you have any other skills, interests or passions you would like to share with us please do let us know.
Once you are registered with us (with confirmation from your Adoption Agency) we will send you a weekly email (usually on a Monday) with information about upcoming activities, including timings and locations.
We look forward to meeting you and good luck with the adoption process.
Holiday meet ups
Activities dependant on time of year and attendees.
Your role: engage with the activity, interact with children and meet adopters.
Pre-school meet-up (North)
An opportunity for parents of pre-school children to meet up and enjoy activities together. Venues and activities are set up by the group from one meet-up to the next.
Your role: join in with the activity, interact with children and an opportunity to talk to adopters.
Family meet-up (South)
In good weather we meet outdoors (park, walks, etc), otherwise we meet in recreational venues (e.g. bowling, soft play areas, etc.).
Your role: join in with the activity, interact with children and an opportunity to talk to adopters.
Family Fun Day (central)
A fun-filled day, free of charge, for families to enjoy. In the past we have had activities such as drumming, dance, sports, art and craft, as well as massages for parents.
Your role: there is a raft of roles for this one, from face painting, leading an activity (music / sport / art, etc.) to all the supporting roles you’d expect for an event like this (directing parking, tea and coffee stand, etc.). All details will be provided in the lead up to the event.
