Beacon House is an integrated mental health and occupational therapy service offering a range of assessments and therapies for children, families, and adults.

There are a number of groups on Facebook offering support for adopters and parents dealing with attachment issues. 

Some are closed groups and you will need to be granted access.

Wiltshire Parent Carer Council (WPCC)

Free

Founded in 2008, the WPCC is an independent, voluntary organisation which is managed and run by parent carers, for parent carers.

 

With a membership in excess of 2500 parent carers across Wiltshire whose children range in age (0-25yrs) and in the type of special educational needs and/or disabilities they have, the WPCC offers incredible support and signposting.

The Belay Foundation

Fees involved

The Belay Foundation is a charity based in the South West of England, dedicated to matching adoptive families in need of support with students looking for sector-specific experience. 

They also offer workshops on DLA applications.

Inspire Training Group

Prices vary - online training

The online training branch of the National Association of Therapeutic Parenting.

There are short as well as more in-depth online training available.

Inspire Training Group was established in 2007 and draws on the experience of a number of professionals including Attachment specialists within the therapeutic community, adopters and foster carers.

Membership fees

The NATP exists to provide support, education and resources for Therapeutic Parents and supporting professionals relating to therapeutic parenting, effective interventions, compassion fatigue and the effects of early life trauma.

Fees involved

Sarah is an adoptive mum herself and provides support and training for both parents and professionals, based on NVR (Non Violent Resistance) approaches. There are some free resources on the website as well as webinars and online courses (starting from £6).
